Every member of our DANCE1 teaching staff has extensive teaching and performance experience. This ensures that our students gain the most out of their time with our DANCE1 team.
Miss Kirsty’s first memory is of plies and points, smiles and sequins, layouts and laughs. As a youngster Miss Kirsty was forever putting on ‘Lounge Room Spectaculars’, twirling through shopping centres, and so her dancing career was born.
Since her first ballet class at the age of three Miss Kirsty has been involved in all facets of the Performing Arts including dance, drama & singing. She has been a beginner student, an advanced senior, an assistant teacher, a commercial dancer, a teacher and now a studio owner. Since completing her training at ED5 International (Certificate IV in the Performing Arts) Miss Kirsty has gone on to work with some of Australia’s leading Choreographers & Event producers on stage productions, commercials and film clips.
With her 20 years of teaching experience, various qualifications (C.B.A.A & ATCL& ATOD Teaching Diplomas, Bachelors in Management AND Certificates in the Performing Arts & Fitness), and vast commercial experience behind her, Miss Kirsty now believes in creating a positive and nurturing studio environment, where she can share her passion & knowledge with her students (… extending beyond the studio even to home with her own little Preschool ballerina and now a big Kindy one as well!)
The DANCE1 community has been a part of Miss Kirsty’s life for many years & she loves watching the D1 ‘family’ grow & succeed together. Her mission goes further than creating good dancers, she strives to create ‘good humans’.
Miss Luisa has been dancing since before she could walk & twirled her way into the DANCE1 studios when she was 3. Performing an ‘impromptu’ song & dance solo for the rest of the class, Miss Lu knew she was destined for a life of dance. She participated in as many classes as DANCE1 offered, filling her afternoons with numerous styles of dance genres. Miss Luisa has taken every performance opportunity available to her, including competing in district dance eisteddfods, completing her C.B.A.A. student dance examinations each year, choreographing school dance performances and organising House Dance Festivals. On top of all this, Miss Luisa has even expanded her repertoire at university to include some funky Bollywood moves.
Miss Luisa is an enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated performer and teacher, always looking forward to the DANCE1 concerts full of glitter, sequins and smiles (and a cameo in the Teachers Routine too)! After completing the DANCE1 Teacher’s Training Program, headed by Miss Kirsty, Miss Luisa has gone on to complete further qualifications in dance including her Certificate IV in Dance Teaching & Management (ATOD) & her C.B.A.A. Dance Teacher’s Qualification, recognising her as a certified teacher of the Capricorn & Ballet Arts Academy. Miss Luisa is also currently a member of the Acro Dance Teacher’s Association (ADTA), attending annual certification workshops & exams to ensure the safest and most efficient method of teaching Acro Dance. Her latest adventure is to further her AcroDance training in Acro Adjudication.
Over the year, you’ll need to keep an eye out for Miss Lu’s #funpants - she has quite the collection going and endeavours to wear a different pair without repeating during the year. Challenge accepted!
Miss Lu’s mission is to inspire people & spread kindness to those she meets. She looks forward to giving all her students opportunities to grow, create, dream & achieve (from her playful Preschoolers through to her adventurous Adults!)
Miss Lexi leapt into the dance studio at 3 years old and has never looked back! After joining DANCE1 she continued to add new styles to her class schedule year after year until there were no more classes on offer.
She enthusiastically participated in the annual concerts, eisteddfods, dance examinations and essentially any other dance related opportunity that presented itself both at school and at dance. This enabled her to further develop her passion for dance and performance, which she endeavors to share with each and every student in the classroom.
Miss Lexi has since gone on to complete the DANCE1 Teacher Training Program as well as the C.B.A.A Teachers Exam through which she has gained a depth of experience teaching students of a variety of different ages and abilities. She hopes to use her years of training and performing to encourage each student to be at their best and enhance their dance experience so that it can be as positive as her own.
Miss Lexi has now ‘graduated’ from teaching with DANCE1 & continues her full time work at PWC. Never fear though, as she will still be unleashing her creative side, teaching our Inter & Senior Urban classes in 2021.
When Miss Antonia thinks of dance, she instantly thinks of love, laughter, sparkles and fun!! From the young age of 6, Miss Antonia has been twirling, shuffling and leaping at the DANCE1 studio and hasn’t stopped since! Through out school, Miss Antonia filled her afternoons with every class offered on the timetable and further, participated in extremely exciting and rewarding dance activities including trips away to Melbourne and Eisteddfods!!
Since graduating year 12, Miss Antonia commenced studying a Bachelor of Business at UTS majoring in Events. She enjoys learning how to create exciting and creative experiences for people of all ages!! When not studying, Miss Antonia is busy at the studio or at her other casual retail job.
Through taking part in Miss Kirsty’s teacher training program as well as the DanceStep program, Miss Antonia has learnt multiple skills that have adequately assisted her in becoming a safe, engaging and professional teacher. Miss Antonia can’t wait to meet all of her students in 2021 and share the same love and excitement that dance brought to her when she was a DANCE1 student.
Miss Hannah started her fun & memorable days at DANCE1 at the young age of 5. Each concert was another performance opportunity to kick, leap & twirl and each year Miss Hannah would continue to add classes & styles to her repertoire.
Since graduating from school & dance in 2017, Miss Hannah has commenced a double degree in nutrition/dietetics and PDHPE teaching, whilst staying as active as she can through dance & sport. In addition to teaching at Dance1, she works as a trainer and receptionist at a gym, and is always trying to find a way to challenge herself!
When not around the studio or busy with uni, all of her spare time is spent at the beach, with her family, or searching for the best cinnamon donut.....#balance!!!!!!
Miss Hannah can’t wait for another year of smiles, connection, and new goals achieved.

Miss Tati started dancing at DANCE1 at the age of 5. Every year she continued to add more classes to her timetable, until she was enrolled in every dance style on offer and through this time also participated in C.B.A.A. Examinations and Eisteddfods. After a brief hiatus from DANCE1 (pursuing other sports including diving & gymnastics), Miss Tati knew her love for dance hadn’t disappeared and continued to participate in all styles of dance, taking advantage of all the opportunities presented to her throughout the rest of her time as a student.
Now, Miss Tati is a Level Four DanceStep assistant teacher and is in her second year of Uni, studying Law and Psychology at Macquarie Uni. In her spare time, Miss Tati loves going to the beach, taking adult gymnastics classes and spending lots of time with family and friends. In 2021, she is looking forward to continuing to inspire and help young DANCE1 students grow, improve and achieve their goals, sharing her passion for dance with all students.
After starting classical ballet at the age of 3, Miss Sarah moved to the Dance1 family at 6 years old. As she got older, she tried more and more styles of dance until she was doing almost every style offered at the studio. Each new style of dance created a new opportunity for her to grow as a dancer and learn even more incredible things. She participated in C.B.A.A Examinations as well as 2 amazing educational dance trips to both New York and Melbourne.
Currently, Miss Sarah is studying Data Engineering at UTS as well as being a DanceStep Level Two assistant teacher where she is learning the necessary skills needed to be a safe and reliable dance teacher. She is very happy to continue to her passion of dance through teaching young students and helping them become the best dancer they can be. Miss Sarah is so excited to meet all of her new students for this year and show them how to shine on stage.
In 2021, DANCE1 will continue to encourage & support our Student Teachers through the DanceStep Program.
