2026 C.B.A.A.
EISTEDDFOD
INFORMATION

Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th May

Redgum Function Centre, Wentworthville

The 2026 Capricorn Ballet and Arts Academy (C.B.A.A) Eisteddfod will hold its weekend of

competitions in just under three weeks time, on Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th May 2026.

The Eisteddfod itself operates from 9:00am through until 7.00pm on both days. Listed below are all the details of each dancers performance(s) including times, entrant numbers and

routine names. Please keep this link safe so you have access to the informtion when you come to the Eisteddfod.

(HINT: save this page to your Home Screen using the Share, Add to Home Screen Function')

Where?

This year the competition will be held at Redgum Function Centre (as advised in the initial sign up information), located at 2 Lane Street, Wentworthville.

Parking is available at the front and rear of the building, as well as other street parking available close by in surrounding streets (Lane Street & Veron Street). If parking off site, please be aware of signage and time restrictions.

Upon arrival please find the signage to the Main Stage space & DANCE1 staff will then find you.

When?

Please refer to the Program below for the schedule of Eisteddfod Sections. This Program will tell you the title of the section as well as the approximate start time of the section.

Please ensure your dancer is dressed and ready to dance in the correct room at least ONE HOUR before their event is scheduled to commence (noted as Arrival Time in table below). The Performance Time is an approximate 'time' as eisteddfods are notorious for running late. In some instances they do run early (& in past years the C.B.A.A. event has been running early) and we wouldn’t want our dancers to miss out on performing after all the hard work they have put in.

In all instances, the times outlined by DANCE1 allocate sufficient arrival time before each estimated section start time (with a bit of time to practice and warm up those performance smiles).

Costumes?

All students have been provided with costume suggestions. We will use costumes from our 2025 Concert OR costumes can be hired from DANCE1 for $30.

Students should bring their costumes to the second rehearsal on Friday 22nd May to ensure these fit and are appropriate to dance in.

DANCE1 students should arrive wearing their DANCE1 uniform with the appropriate tights (& body stocking if owned) underneath. Girls will be able to change into their costumes once inside the venue. If your 2025 concert tights are no longer wearable (or you do not have any) then a new pair can be

purchased through the DANCE1 Office ($35).

DANCE1 representatives will be present at the Eisteddfod to assist with last minute corrections and touch ups if necessary so please bring your dancers make-up and hair tools (i.e. lipstick, foundation, gel, comb, etc).

Hair & Make-Up

Hair should be a 'concert' bun with a bun net, pins and the hair accessory to match the costume.

A light application of make-up should be worn so your dancer's features and bright smile are visible on stage. Think foundation, powder, blush, eyeshadow and lipstick.

Additional Info

COSTS – Rehearsal & Eisteddfod Fees

Audience entry fees have been paid with the competition entrance fee. Please feel free to bring as many audience members to watch as you wish.

Rehearsal Fees & Eisteddfod Entry Fees will be invoiced to families AFTER the Eisteddfod event. These will be in line with the information provided in the Eisteddfod Registration letter and will appear on your Invoice as ‘Eisteddfod Rehearsal and Competition Fees’ (and will include the two afternoon rehearsals and the Eisteddfod section entry fees).

EXPECTATIONS

Please remember that all parents and students are attending the Eisteddfod as representatives of DANCE1. It is important that everyone shows courtesy for the other dancers in the sections by clapping for all, not discussing other competitors loudly and not walking in or out of the area while a dancer is performing.

FOOD

There will be a food van on site, for coffee, drinks and snacks. We do however recommend bringing enough food for the day. Competitors may have time to wander the surrounding shops if time permits, however bringing your own lunch and snacks is recommended.

MUSIC

DANCE1 has provided copies of the music to the C.B.A.A. Representative. DANCE1 will bring spare copies of the music along to the Eisteddfod, but competitors will not be responsible for managing music files.

SUPERVISION

While DANCE1 staff will be present on the day to assist, it is important that parents/guardians are also at the venue to supervise and support their dancer. The Eisteddfod is run by all C.B.A.A. studio directors and so DANCE1 staff may be running around helping with the Eisteddfod organisation.
