2026 C.B.A.A.
EISTEDDFOD
INFORMATION
(CAPRICORN BALLET & ARTS ACADEMY)

Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th May

Redgum Function Centre, Wentworthville

(Open to all DANCE1 students in Kindy - Year 12)

What is the C.B.A.A. Eisteddfod?

The C.B.A.A. (Capricorn Ballet & Arts Academy) Eisteddfod is a competition, but not in the traditional sense. It is designed to encourage stage experience in a friendly, non-competitive environment.

Dancers will prepare a routine (learned in class) and will perform in front of an audience and adjudicator during the Festival weekend.

Why participate?

DANCE1 has been a member of the Capricorn Ballet & Arts Academy for over 29 years and the C.B.A.A. Eisteddfod is the only competition which we openly promote to our families. The values of Capricorn Ballet & Art Academy align strongly with those of DANCE1 and you can be guaranteed an 'inclusive' and 'family-oriented' environment.

The Eisteddfod is just one of our mid-year performance opportunities, and participants gain so many skills that can only be learned by being involved.

  • Allows students to increase their self-confidence and stage presence (think big smiles, eyes up and performing for an audience on a smaller scale)

  • Teaches performance and competition etiquette to students

  • Fosters a relaxed and non-competitive environment in which the emphasis is on 'doing your best'

  • Allows dancers to perform in Solo, Duo or Trio sections, AND is one of the only competitions where dancing on stage with a friend is encouraged!

Extra lessons

To ensure our dancers are ‘performance-ready’, two additional rehearsals will be scheduled to bring together routines and allow for a dress rehearsal in costume. These will take place on Friday 15th May & Friday 22nd May (the two Fridays preceding the Eisteddfod).
