C.B.A.A. MEDAL DAY
INFORMATION
Saturday 13th June
WHERE: LUC LOCATION (Lindfield Uniting Church)
The exam itself will take place in the LUC Studio (only DANCE1 Staff and students permitted entry).
Drop Off and Pick Up will be via the LUC Undercroft. This room is located underneath the Main LUC Hall and entry is off the Pacific Highway and down the driveway to the left of the cottage. Please keep an eye out for the signs directing you.
EXAM TIMES:
Please ensure your child is dropped off and picked up as per the times set out below. Each exam is allocated a 15-20 minute session, with dancers breaking between exams to change shoes and revise work. It is essential that your dancer attends for the full duration as our external examiner has outlined the scheduled time based on each participating dancer.

RESULTS & MEDALS:
Report Cards, Certificates and Medals from the Examinations will be sent home at the start of Term 3. We love seeing our dancers displaying their medals proudly pinned to leotards during class!!
PAYMENT:
Exam rehearsals fees have been sent as part of your Mid-Term 2 Account HOWEVER payment for the exam is in cash on the day of Saturday 13th June. The exam fees should be sent in an envelope with your dancer’s name on the front.
Grade Exam Cost: $40 per exam / per style
Major Grade Cost: $65 per exam / per style
(Major Grades are only applicable to students in Year 11 & 12)
Please note: Examinations are pre-booked & therefore payment will be required even if students do not attend their allocated session. Credit Card payments ARE NOT available.
HAIR AND PRESENTATION:
Hair is worn in a neat bun, secured with a bun net, bun pins and lots of hair spray and gel. Short fringes should be neatly combed with a light covering of hairspray to ensure no ‘wispy bits.
Hair accessories are NOT to be worn (such as concert curly scrunchies, ribbons, glitter). DANCE1 Hair Bows may be worn OR DANCE1 Staff will provide ribbon for all exam students.
Please send a comb with your child to the examination in case touch ups need to be made. Please make sure that fake tattoos, homework notes/school drawings and nail polish are removed from all exposed skin.
MAKEUP:
Makeup is not necessary for the exam day however those older students wishing to wear some should apply natural looking make up with a light coverage. Please DO NOT apply a full face of ‘Concert’ style make up.
TIGHTS:
Dancers are required to wear tights that match the styles they are participating in. Students should wear their 2025 Concert Tights which have a convertible foot for ACRO dancers. They must be in good condition with no rips or ladders.
If you are in need of new/spare tights please email the DANCE1 Office BEFORE exam day. New tights are $35.
EXAM UNIFORM REQUIREMENT:
All students must wear their correct DANCE1 uniform for the performance. This includes correct shoes for each style.
During our uniform transition, a mixture of Burgundy and Black uniform items can be worn and all pieces (with the exception of Modern skirts) must have the gold ‘DANCE1’ logo embroidered.
Please contact the DANCE1 Office if you need to order new items, OR book a uniform fitting appointment as soon as possible.

Please make sure uniform is clean, neat & in good condition.
Ahead of Exam Day, we do ask that you also please check your dancer’s shoes and uniform to
ensure that all sizes fit and that your dancer has the correct tights. Please email the DANCE1
Office as soon as possible if your dancer requires any uniform for the day as some pieces may
take time to order from suppliers.
