MID-YEAR SHOWCASE
PERFORMERS INFORMATION

The Mid-Year Showcase is a relaxed, in-class performance where our school-aged dancers get to shine in front of family and friends. It’s a special opportunity to celebrate the progress they’ve made so far this year and share a glimpse of what happens in class each week.
This is not a full-scale concert. Instead, students will be demonstrating their regular classwork (including barre, centre and corner exercises) in their regular DANCE1 uniform.
The focus is on joy, confidence, and progress - not perfection.
SCHEDULE
Dancers will be grouped by age so each session is tailored to the styles and classes within that age-group including,
Kindy - Year 3 MiniBlast (Jazz/Tap, Jazz/Modern or Jazz/Ballet)
Year 2 & 3 DemiBlast (Jazz, Tap, Modern and Ballet)
Year 4, 5 & 6 DanceBlast (Jazz, Broadway, Modern)
Year 7 & above - DanceBlast (Jazz only)
Within each session, dancers may also present some additional classwork from other styles.
Each session runs for approximately 1 hour and is designed to be simple and stress-free for families. Arrive, enjoy your dancer's performance and head off after their class is done. No need to stay for the whole evening.

EVENING TO CONCLUDE: 8.30pm
On arrival, students will be escorted to the Undercroft Holding Area and should bring with them their dance bag, containing all shoes required, a drink bottle, a small snack and of course their BIG smiles!
Students will arrive earlier to ensure adequate practice time together as a group, plus the extra time to tie shoes, fix hair and warm up. During this time, dancers will be under the supervision of our DANCE1 Staff.
DANCE1 AFTER SCHOOL COLLECTION
DANCE1 will offer an After School Care Service for dancers involved in the Mid-Year Showcase. Collection will be from both Holy Family and Highfields from 2.45pm. Dancers who have been part of the C.B.A.A. Medal Day rehearsals will be collected as per usual.
Any dancers wishing to use the After School Care Service on this day should complete the below form.
UNIFORM
All students must wear their correct DANCE1 uniform for the performance. This includes correct shoes for each style.
During our uniform transition, a mixture of Burgundy and Black uniform items can be worn and all pieces (with the exception of Modern skirts) must have the gold ‘DANCE1’ logo embroidered.
Please contact the DANCE1 Office if you need to order new items, OR book a uniform fitting appointment as soon as possible.

TIGHTS
Students should wear their 2025 JAZZ (tan) Concert Tights which have a convertible foot for ACRO dancers. They must be in good condition with no rips or ladders.
If you are in need of new/spare tights please email the DANCE1 Office BEFORE Mid-Year Showcase. New tights are $35.
HAIR
Kindy - Year 6:
Hair should be neatly tied back and secured with an elastic of the same hair colour. Think pony tail, pony tail plait or for shorter hair neatly brushed. NO curly hair scrunchies or hair accessories necessary.
A small amount of gel or hairspray should be used to secure any fly-aways or wispy
bits around the forehead or behind the ears.
Year 7 & above:
Class bun secured with plenty of pins and a bun net. A small amount of gel or hairspray should be used to secure any fly-aways or wispy bits around the forehead or behind the ears.
TICKETS
Parents, siblings, grandparents, and friends are all welcome to attend and cheer on our performers! There are no tickets to this event - seating will be informal, and we encourage a warm and supportive atmosphere. The audience should arrive on time to ensure our dancers can see their loved ones as
they take to the stage.
PHOTOS & VIDEOS
You’re welcome to take photos and videos during the performance but please be mindful of other families and avoid blocking views. Thank you for helping us create a respectful and secure environment for all children involved.
COST
As outlined in the original information, a $50 fee will be charged per performer. This charge will be included as part of your Mid-Term 2 account.
There will be no additional charge for our Mrs Fisher Medal Day participants who will
use our Mid-Year Showcase as an opportunity for their final rehearsal.
