ADULT & GRAD CLASSES
DANCE1 is excited to offer Adult classes – perfect for first-timers or seasoned performers!!
Our most popular Adult class! These classes are offered to those who have always wanted to perform a triple pirouette, leap across the floor & nail that high kick. Each lesson focuses on a new skill and offers the opportunity to come as a regular or casually. No experience is necessary & all abilities are catered for.
Our timetable offers classes on Friday mornings & Wednesday evenings.
Another popular class here at DANCE1. These classes are open to those Adults who have always wanted to be the next ‘Tap Dog’ performer! We shuffle, stomp & “Shirley Temple” our way through the basics of Tap dancing with new skills & repetition of steps. We welcome all abilities & no experience is necessary.
Tap shoes are recommended but not compulsory with classes offered on Wednesday evenings & Friday mornings.
For those young adults who can’t get enough dance! Our Grad class was formed in 2011 for the DANCE1 students who just didn’t want to leave their DANCE1 family. Most of our Grad performers are graduated DANCE1 dancers & staff members who still love to perform (with regular cameos at the concerts). This class is open to young adults with previous dance experience. Contact us now for more information.
An energetic, up beat and bouncy dance style – Jazz is heaps of fun!!!! Classes are structured to incorporate limbering, strength work, choreography and skill building.
A very popular form of dance and great exercise! Lots of rhythm, beat and sound exploration. Classes study a variety of different Tap genres including Hoofing, Broadway, Traditional and of course a more commercial, current style to keep us up to date.
Jazz Technique & Choreography
A 45 minute class that works on...
• Technique (specific to Jazz), flexibility, stability & extension work.
• Choreographic components and tips and tricks to memorise & retain Jazz choreography
• Challenging & exciting new combinations every week.
• Concert routine specific to 2020.
Ballet & Contemporary
Combining elements of Classical Ballet, Modern, Lyrical & Contemporary, no two classes will ever be the same! Classes will be based on the fundamentals & technique of classical Ballet through barre, centre & corner work, whilst incorporating contract & release work of Contemporary.
